Sebastian & Lockington VIC

We made it back on the road again and made the short trip to the town of Sebastian. We set up camp at the race course and John went for a walk to hunt up the pub that was supposed to be there. He found the pub after a short walk, only to find that the pub was sadly no longer a pub but a private residence. With no pub in the area we had happy hour with the occupants of the only other van there. The owners Gary and Chris wandered over with their little fluff ball Missy. Prickles and Missy did not get along and it didn't help that we took turns at giving Prickles a nudge, the result was Missy would jump back and start growling at him, we all thought it was funny and it seemed we were all easily amused.

The magpie we had encountered earlier is a local personality and goes by the name Buck, it seems he will sit on your knee and you can hand feed him.

After two days we moved on to Lockington, they have set up an RV Camp in town, Dorothy turned up to collect our money and this should have been a quick transaction, not to be, 20 minutes later she was on her way. Lockington was originally named Pannoobamwawm. When the railway arrived in 1915 the station was called Barnawm. It was soon decided to call the growing town after William Lockington, a prominent Jesuit priest. The post office opened in 1876 and the town was officially renamed Lockington in 1921. The town today has one pub, a school, three churches and a small range of shops. The district features an extensive net work of irrigation channels and these are to be said the home of the "Loch Ness Yabby".
