Got an early start on the Friday morning as we wanted to sneak into Woomelang. After spending just over a week there in January, the car, the van and us could be recognised. We pulled into the free camp called Cronomby Tanks, all with in walking distance of town, but hidden by lots of trees, set up camp and hid. Nice little camp with a nice bush setting, toilet, fire pits and plenty of fire wood. After tea we had a fire and a few drinks and thoroughly chilled.
Saturday we knew Glen and Katrina had flown down on Friday night so we dropped in to see them, no one home. Went out to the farm where the auction was taking place and were met by a very surprised Julie and her husband Gordon, lots of hugs. Just as surprised were Glen and Katrina when they saw us as we had said under no circumstances were we ever going to set foot in Woomelang again! More hugs!! Glen and Katrina's Aunty Trish was another one we managed to surprise and the tears were soon flowing.
We had set up about half the stuff that was going up for auction when we were there last time and at least as much again had been set up over Easter.
Sunday the day of the auction we arrived bright and early around 7am to help where we could and were put on traffic duty, cars, cars with vans, cars with trailers of all sizes and motor homes were already lining up on the road waiting to get in, the gates didn't open until 8am. Time for the gates to open and it seemed to be an endless procession began and was still coming in after 10am when the action had begun. We guessed about 1,000 people had turned up, the locals had organised food and drinks with all proceeds going to charity. The auction went very well and what didn't go which wasn't much the scrap metal guy was happy to collect. After a long day we headed back to camp.
Monday, bright and sunny we bid a fond farewell to all the clan and were back on the road to not to far away Sea Lake.
