Back to Mallala, not our first choice but our cheapest. We had to get the van inspected for rego and in the whole of South Australia there was only one place that could do it, the head office of the Royal Automobile Association of SA or the RAA at Mile End just west of Adelaide. We chose Mallala because it was free and in close but not too close to the RAA. Got there on the Sunday, with the van booked in for the Tuesday.
Monday we did a dry run to the RAA to see how long it would take, where we could park, what the traffic would be like. Glad we did with a little confusion from the staff as to where this would take place, got it sorted and went shopping for some much needed clothing. My watch had one of the number batons fall off and was in need of repair, unsuccessful as the guy didn't have the tools or the skill, but he had removed the piece floating around the watch face to lessen any more damage. After all the time we had spent on the road, all the pictures John had taken he had to get an external hard drive to put all his pictures on as his laptop was full. We returned home and had a good chat with the neighbours.
Tuesday came, we hitched up the van and with some trepidation we hit the road. Lots of traffic, lots of trucks but we made it. Half an hour later it was passed, the paper work filled out and the bill paid.
Back on the road and on our way home we called into the Cross Keys Hotel and picked up a couple of casks of wine to celebrate. Done thank the Gods!!
