Cavendish VIC

After a battery refresh for both us and the van we hitched up and moved on to Cavendish Recreation  Grounds at $10.00 a night non powered, but all amenities, basic but alright. Steve the care tacker turned up in the afternoon to take our money, we originally were only going to stay two nights, but ended up staying for three.

Cavendish is about 30kms south west of the Grampians National Park. We stopped to take a look at Burrong Falls, unfortunately the drought has taken it toll here as well as the falls were dry. With the first falls being dry Griffo had decided that they were all that way and it would be a waste of time going to see any others.

The park does have some beautiful and breath taking rock escarpments and you can see were the upheaval of the earth has taken place, and that makes up for the other stuff. With the worms starting to bite we headed to Halls Gap about the only place you can buy food, so you get your lunch, and bite the bullet with the price. If the weather  wasn't in drought mode we would had a very different experience.

Friday came as it does every week and was declared it would be tart up the van and truck day as over Christmas, New Year and Woomelang we had let things slide. After we had cleaned, swept and dusted we thought we deserved a reward and wandered down to the Bunyip Hotel for a couple of coldies.
