On the Friday, we had booked our caravan in to have the stove top looked at as the gas on the main burner blows out by itself. $95.00 later and a new regulator it is better but still not fixed. Anyway we found our way to Merrigum Sports Ground for three nights. As I had pointed out Friday has rolled around again so went and took the 5 minute stroll to the pub, eight beers later (that's four each), we wandered back to camp. Great little pub and plenty of laughs.
On Saturday we set out to explore some of the nearby towns. Shepparton was on our radar as about 10 to 12 years ago we traveled through with the kids, and the Tourist Info had a competition to name the black and white fiber glass cow they had inside. Haylz had a great name and said let's call it Micheal Jackson cause it doesn't matter if you're black or white. Let's say it was well received, so we decided to track it down. Found it in a very small town of Toolamba in a very pretty park, he seemed to be happy there. Also called into the township of Tatura now the home of Devondale and Rosella manufacturing. Beautiful mosiac sculptures in the town park to celebrate their history. Did some food and grog shopping on the way home at near by Kyabram as it is much bigger than Merrigum. Bought stuff for the Christmas cake, Rum balls and Ginger bread cookies. I have to have the fruit for the cake sucking up the alcohol early so you don't loose the flavour. When we returned to camp we had been joined by another van. Nice folk, we talked for about an hour or so and said our farewells as they were leaving the same day as we were.
