Meredith Park, Colac VIC

We took off from Killarney to our next stop at Lake Elingmate also a lake that has formed inside the crater of a volcano. Only stayed for the one night as it was a half way stop to Ondit, a camp site called Meredith Park camping ground. Ondit is a suburb of Colac.
We took off in foul weather, it rained on and off, heavy and light all the way until we hit Colac, then it was only the wind that froze us. Colac its self is quite a large town, but like most of Victoria dumping the toilet is a problem. They have a dump point at the caravan park at the showground but charge you $2.00 for the privilege plus if want to fill your water tanks that was an additional $5.00.
We set up camp at Meredith Park just 10 minutes out of town on Lake Colac. Beautiful spot if only the wind would bugger off.

Jumped in the truck to check out the town and as we drove in on the main street we encountered two fire trucks in response to a fire in the back of a shoe store, not the norm I would think. As the people stopped to watch the spectacle a third truck rocked up but was not needed, not to much damage was done as the next day it was business as usual.

We were told by fellow travelers that Red Rock lookout was a great place to go for fantastic photographs. Apparently this area of Victoria was a hot spot (sorry for the Dad joke) for volcanic activity thousands of years ago and the evidence can still be seen today. They weren't wrong.
