Foster VIC

After about 45 minutes on the road we wound up at Foster, a little south west of Yarram. Discovered a very nice caravan park, did some washing (always fun) and settled in. Went down to the Exchange Hotel for Friday night drinks with the boys. The pub was quite a large bar and massive dining room.
Saturday we rose early hit the road to Wisons Promontory about an hour south of Foster, again the land of Oz pulls out all the stops to present Australia at its best. The Prom as it known to the locals is the southern most tip of the Australian mainland. Surrounded by Bass Straight it has ocean views on both sides.
We started our tour at the visitors centre and took the road to Tidal River at Norman Beach, and looks out to Norman Island.
Next stop was at Squeaky Beach, so called because the rounded grains of quartz sand makes a squeak when walked on.  More tremendous photos from the look out here, they just keep coming.
Norman Lookout was just amazing as the pictures will back me up.
Last stop was Whiskey Bay, we just had to go there don't you think? From the car park you travel through a moist gully that follows whiskey creek, as we walked along the track we encountered an Echidna and it started to walk toward us until it got our scent and took to the scrub, two echidnas in two weeks, what are the chances!
