Saturday morning we heard Lakes Entrance calling so we answered the call and made the long journey to get there (59kms). Arrived about 11am, set up camp at the sports ground and took the short walk into town. Great camp spot right on the river but dear god it was cold, the wind was coming straight off the Antartic, add a shower of rain and it felt as if we were being pelted with tiny bits of hail.
We did a bit of exploring out of town and came across a great lookout as well as Nyerimilang Heritage Park. The park was a homestead originally and is now a heritage listed park with National Parks and Wildlife. The original house still stands and the grounds are for all to roam around.
While we were there we came upon a real prickles and got quite close to him, the cheeky little bugger came up and sniffed Johns shoe. We both got some great pics of him as well.
