John and I left home after many hugs to our family and many cuddles to the newest member Reid. Back on the road we headed to Bungendore showground. A small and friendly town about 20 minutes drive from Canberra. After we booked into our site we had scones with jam and cream delivered to our van, such a lovely gesture from our hosts.
Using the showground as a base we spent the first full day at the War Memorial, so much to see and read. We were lucky enough to join a 90 minute tour with a volunteer and heard of the sacrifices and the heroic deeds that were made for our country.
The next day we went to the Film and Sound Archives which was showing a special attraction, The Life of Heath Ledger, fantastic. After spending time with Heath we headed to the Australian National Museum and spent a good 3 hours looking through all the exhibits.
