Took a side step on this run and headed back to St George. My glasses case had started to fall apart and I remembered a place there had kangaroo fur cases we had also run out of gas in one of the two bottles and we could get it refilled there as well. It is getting harder to find places that do refills, most joints have the swap and go. John and I thought it was worth the 160km drive up there, out here that's just around the corner.
We left St George and headed to Thallon to marvel at the artwork on 4 wheat silos, truly amazing. Finally made it to Mungindi another small town, but as we have found all the small places we have been to are very friendly. There are two sides to this town as it is divided in the middle by the QLD/NSW boarder, the Barwon River and the local councils. It is the only place we have been to that has two cop shops within 500 metres of each other. Great free camp on the river with clean toots, playground, picnic tables and wood fired BBQs. Plenty of spots if you get in early, it even has its own welcoming committee as the three guess who greeted us proved, a little overly friendly.
