Only stayed two days in Richmond before motoring on to Julia Creek, no dinosaurs here just a curious little mouse like creatures called the Fat-tailed Dunnart. This little critter is related to the Tassie Devil, must admit we couldn't see it. Great camp on the creek only ask for a donation for a maximum stay of 4 days. What makes this even better is happy hour every day at 5pm, sweeeet!! Happy hour what a great concept, about 24 fellow travelers sitting in a circle swapping stories, places you must visit and ways to get there, and we even had our own bush poet.
Visited what would have to be the smallest RSL we have ever seen, but what a great memorial to the first world war. We went to the info centre and watched them feed a Dannart, cute as a button but boy the little bugger moves fast, also looked at a great collection of photos of the past.
With a heavy heart at the loss of happy hour we said goodbye to our camp hosts Debbie and Frans and headed to Cloncurry.
