Carnarvon Gorge QLD

Drove up to Carnarvon Gorge and stayed at Sandstone Park for 2 nights. The sights were huge no power or water but had porter loos. The view alone was worth the $23.00 a night,we felt like we were on top of the world! We made the decision the night before to be kind to ourselves do the moderate track.  Got to the start at 8.30 on a glorious morning, so far not to bad, then we discover lots of stairs up an down, river crossings with stepping stones, as well as a ladder the would have been at least 20 feet tall. It nearly killed us but mother  nature has put on a truly amazing show. The Moss Garden was all sandstone and moss dripping with water. Further up was the Amphitheatre, it had the ladder climb and we were rewarded with a corridor opening up to a picturesque grove of small ferns and moss covered rocks to surrounding walls of sandstone reaching up to the sky, words such as amazing and spectacular just aren't enough. We estimated we had walked, jumped and climbed a little over 10 kilometers we were stuffed but well worth it!

Our Camp Site best ever spot.

The Gorge is unforgetable

I tried to capture it but impossible.
