Menindee NSW

From Hillston we travelled on a dirt road to Mossgiel about 1 hour in to our trip I heard a noise stopping beside the road in the salt bush and ants discovered that the one of the water tanks had all but fallen off. The process to fix was going to be harder then to remove it which is what we did, this process took approx 1 hour, love the bush only 2 cars passed us during the operation both stopped and asked if we where ok and could they help.
Back on the road we reached Mossgiel then up the Cobb Hwy to Ivanhoe on tar where we stopped for lunch. Checked in to the police station as I could see the southerly change moving in they checked with Menindee that all was good so 200km of dirt road ahead of us we saw only 4 cars and 1 train who tooted. With 30km to go we hit rain and the road was turned from dust to mud in minutes this made travelling slow but no choice we had to get to Menindee. After 5 hours we found our free camp which was black soil and it was starting to get boggy so we went to the Menindee Lake caravan park.
No one at reception just a note to fill in the book and someone will be around to collect the fees.

We found a spot easy we where the only ones there except of a lot on permanent vans, toilets where clean but did not see anyone all night or in the morning very spooky, we where tired and soon got to sleep. On leaving someone had put a barrier across the road leading to the park with a sign "Road Closed" yah....
